Reuben College Official Fellow - Associate Professorship of Computational Social Science
The Department of Sociology together with the Leverhulme Centre for Demographic Science (LCDS) seek to appoint an Associate Professor of Computational Social Science in association with an Official Fellowship at Reuben College.
The successful candidate will undertake research, teaching and administration in the Department of Sociology and the Leverhulme Centre for Demographic Science. Teaching duties will be focused on Sociology's masters' programmes and are likely to include contributing to the compulsory modules on quantitative methods, teaching an option (elective) module, and supervision of masters as well as doctoral students in the Department.
As an Official Fellow of Reuben College, postholders will be expected to subscribe proactively to the college ethos and to commit to developing both its intellectual and outreach activities. The College Fellows together foster a culture of interdisciplinary exchange by organising regular college events that catalyse them, such as seminars, workshops and reading groups.
The successful candidate should hold a PhD in an area related to the LCDS such as demography, sociology, biology, genetics, economics, econometrics, criminology, statistics, epidemiology or public health, geography, computer science or another related discipline. An outstanding record of high-quality research and publications and/or promise of pipeline of research, as well as well as ability to teach, supervise and examine high-achieving and challenging graduate students are essential for this post. Experience in working within an interdisciplinary environment would be desirable.
